Rimer's First Ramblings

by Staff Writer / Columbus Blue Jackets

October 25

I too begin a blog today on BlueJackets.com. When appropriate I intend to update you on news with the Jackets, news around the NHL and just my random thoughts.

Today I thought I'd fill you in on my observations at this morning's skate among other things. It looks like Dan Fritsche is going to be re-united with Manny Malhotra and Jason Chimera, a line that was very effective prior to Danny's injury last season. Fritsche had a solid game in Chicago and I thought it worth pointing out... that last season Fritsche scored his first goal against these same St. Louis Blues.

Needless to say tonight's tilt is an important one... another division game and the Jackets hope to go 2-0 in the division with a win tonight.

Interestingly, at Hitch's coaches show on 1460 the fan yesterday, he said he felt that the second place team in the Division would be a playoff team... adding importance to these matchups like tonight's.

It also appears that Jody Shelley will be in the lineup tonight. The Blues, who have won five of their last six games are a physical group once you get past their first line... which is dynamic!! Karyia, Tkachuk, and Boyes.

One other Hitch thought from yesterday... as well as Rick Nash is playing... 5 goals, 3 assists last four games... we haven't seen the best from number 61.

*Throughout the season, AAA will bring you the Broadcaster's Blogs - "Davidge Dishes" and "Rimer Ramblings".
