Ramblings from a Mile High

by Jeff Rimer / Columbus Blue Jackets

January 20

The Blue Jackets played well enough to win in Dallas yesterday but could not finish after some outstanding saves by Mike Smith!

But today is another day and the Blue Jackets can move into a tie for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference with a victory over 8th place Colorado here in Denver tonight.

The only likely change from yesterday's lineup will see Pascal Leclaire get the start in goal looking for his fifth straight win! Sergei Fedorov is with the team here in Denver but unlikely to suit up until Tuesday after being rocked early in the 3rd period in Phoenix. And there is good news on Ron Hainsey. I talked to Ron this morning before we headed to the Pepsi Center for today's morning skate and he says he is feeling much better... the back is responding to treatment and he too could be back Tuesday as we return to Dallas looking to avenge yesterday afternoon's loss.

Huge game tonight and the Blue Jackets got some help from others last night and now need to help themselves this evening. A win will also give the Jackets their first season series win over the Avs. The CBJ lead the season series 2-1 heading into tonight's game!
