The Quebec Blue Jackets start the period finishing off a penalty kill and refocusing their energy. The Swiss team was able to free a breaking Swiss player in the neutral zone with an accurate pass and a shot was taken. A scrum ensues and ends with a Swiss goal. The Swiss team started to skate a bit harder but the Quebec Blue Jackets players work the give and go and get rewarded with a goal being scored by Connor McDonald (assists to Cassels and O'Brien) – his second of the game. The third period starts with a Quebec Blue Jackets power play. The team catches a tough break as a Swiss player gains possession of the puck and scores a shorthanded goal. The Quebec Blue Jackets comeback skating hard but the Swiss skated harder and managed another goal. With time running out, the Quebec Blue Jackets pull their goalie and send an extra skater to the ice. They manage shots and hit a post but no goal as the horn sounds.
