Quebec Pee Wee Blue Jackets: Update 5

The Jackets played two exhibition games Monday morning. The first game pitted the Blue Jackets against the team from New Brunswick (N.B.). N.B. scored 4 minutes into the game on a rebound goal coming off a great first save by Jackets goaltender Cam Beck. The remainder of the first period both teams battled back and forth, with both teams taking one penalty and each preventing power plays goals. With 4 seconds remaining in the first period, Austin Pooley scored a low corner goal after receiving a strong pass from Christopher Bergamesca.

N.B. came back to score goals at the top and bottom of the second period to end the second period ahead 3-1. Early in the third period, with the Jackets on the penalty kill, Chase Rose forced a turnover in the offensive zone and took the rebound pass from Mark Heneman to score, putting the game at 3-2. N.B. came back to score midway through the third period and seal the game at 4-2.

A couple hours later the Jackets faced off a against the Hershey Quebec team. The first period saw some strong goaltending from Connor Willette and a very solid effort by the Jackets defenseman. The first period ended in a 0-0 tie. Early in the second period with the Jackets pressing hard in the offensive zone, Jeremy Judis took a rebound pass from Kyle Marcinick and jammed the puck past the Hershey goalie to put the Jackets ahead 1-0.

Hershey came back with 2 unanswered goals later in the second period. The score at the end of the period was 1-2 in favor of the Hershey, which is where the score stayed.
