Nikita Filatov, LW
18-years-old, 6-0, 170 pounds (Moscow, RUS)
Columbus' 1st pick, 6th overall in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft
After being assigned by Columbus on October 8 and scoring two goals in his first two professional games, Filatov was recalled by the Jackets just one week later. He made his NHL debut on October 17 vs. Nashville and scored his first NHL goal the same night. After playing in four games with the big club, Filatov was assigned back to Syracuse on October 28. Since being assigned, he has notched six points (3g, 3a), in six games. He is currently tied for third on the club in scoring with eight points (5g, 3a) in eight games. Filatov picked up a helper, his first as a professional, on the Crunch's lone goal during Friday's 4-1 loss in Binghamton.
Trent Vogelhuber, RW
20-years-old, 6-2, 185 pounds (Dublin, OH)
Columbus' 7th pick, 211th overall in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft
Vogelhuber, the Central Ohio native and former Ohio AAA Blue Jacket, began his collegiate career this fall at Miami University for the Redhawks. Three games into the 2008-09 campaign, Trent has registered 12 penalty minutes and is still looking for his first points of the year.
Tomas Kubalik, RW
18-years-old, 6-2, 189 pounds (Plzen, CZE)
Columbus' 6th pick, 135th overall in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft
Tomas will again be spending the 2008-09 campaign with Plzen HC in the Czech Republic. In 20 games played thus far with Plzen, Kubalik has one assist to his credit along with 37 penalty minutes.
Tom Sestito, LW
21-years-old, 6-4, 209 pounds (Utica, NY)
Columbus' 3rd pick, 85th overall in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft
After spending the majority of last season with the Syracuse Cruch and getting his first taste of the NHL with the Columbus Blue Jackets, Sesito is once again honing his skills in upstate New York this season. In 10 games played this season with the Blue Jackets AHL affilaiate, Tom already has three goals and three assists (almost half to his seven goals last season in 66 games). He also has already accumulated 69 penalty minutes this year.
Matt Calvert, LW
18-years-old, 5-9, 164 pounds (Bandon, MB)
Columbus' 5th pick, 127th overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft
Calvert is off to a fast start with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the WHL. In 16 games played, Calvert is tied for fourth on the team in goals (7) and third on the team in assists (11). Brandon also played last season with the Wheat Kings, registering 64 points in 72 games during his first season in the WHL.
