Derek MacKenzie, C
27 years old, 5-11, 185 pounds (Sudbury, ON)
Selected in the fifth round, 128th overall, in 1999 NHL Entry Draft

AHL All-Star Derek MacKenzie notched a goal and two assists for the Canadian AHL All-Stars in a 14-11 loss to the PlanetUSA All-Stars this past Monday. Prior to the All-Star break the center extended his point-scoring streak to a team and individual season-high eight games (three goals and five assists). He has a chance to continue his streak this weekend with the Crunch as they host Lake Erie and Wilkes-Barre/Scrantion this weekend.

 


Sean Collins, C
20 years old, 6-3, 184 pounds (Saskatoon, SK)
Columbus' seventh round choice, 187th overall, in 2008

Collins had a goal and an assist for two points, while earning a +2 plus/minus rating in Cornell's 5-1 victory over Brown last Saturday. The freshman has tallied two goals and one assist for three points in 16 games this season.

 


Andrey Plekhanov, D
22 years old, 6-1, 187 pounds (Nizhnekampsk, Russia)
Columbus' fifth pick, 96th overall, in 2004 Entry Draft

Plekhanov went a +2 during two games last weekend for the Syracuse Crunch. In 38 games this season the defenseman has registered two goals, including a power play tally, and 15 assists for 17 points, while registering a +7. He is currently third in points amongst defensemen for the Crunch.

 


Brent Regner, D
19 years old, 5-11, 175 pounds (Westlock, AB)
Columbus' fifth round choice, 137th overall, in 2008

Regner has appeared in 38 games for the Vancouver Giants and has tallied 11 goals and 38 assists for 49 points, with a +52 plus/minus rating. He is currently second in the league in plus/minus behind teammate Casey Pierro-Zabotel, who is +53. He leads Vancouver defensemen in plus/minus and is second in goals and assists.
