Nikita Filatov, LW
18 years old, 6-0, 175 pounds (Moscow, RUS)Columbus' 1st pick, 6th overall in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft
After being assigned to Syracuse by Columbus on October 8 and scoring two goals in his first two AHL games, Filatov was recalled by the Jackets just one week later. He made his NHL debut on October 17 vs. Nashville and scored his first NHL goal the same night. After playing in four games with the Columbus, Filatov was assigned back to Syracuse on October 28. Since being assigned, he has notched 17 points (7g, 10a), in 23 games. He is currently third on the club in scoring with 17 points.
Matt Calvert, LW
18 years old, 5-9, 164 pounds (Brandon, Manitoba)
Columbus' 5th pick, 127th overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft
Calvert is currently sixth in points on the Brandon Wheat Kings of the WHL even though he has only played in 26 of the teams 35 games. In those 26 games thus far, Calvert has already recorded 10 goals and 16 assists for 26 points total. In the 2007 season, Calvert scored 24 goals and 40 assists while playing in all 72 regular season games for the Brandon Wheat Kings. He also managed to post an impressive plus-26 rating during the season.
Jake Hansen, RW
19 years old, 6-1, 168 pounds (St. Paul, MN)
Columbus' 4th pick, 68th overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft
Jake just started his freshman year at the University of Minnesota and will play on the Golden Gopher Hockey team. In 13 games thus far, Hansen has recorded his first collegiate goal and is looking for more as the season progresses. Last year while playing with the Sioux Falls Stampede of the USHL, Jake ranked second on the team and ninth in the league in scoring with 31-27-58 over 60 games.
Andrey Plekhanov, D
22 years old, 6-1, 187 pounds, (Nizhnekampsk, Russia)
Columbus' fifth pick, 96th overall, in 2004 NHL Entry Draft
After splitting time between the Syracuse Crunch and the Elmira Jackals during the 2007-08 season, Andrey has worked his way to playing full time with Syracuse this season. Through 21 games played thus far with the Blue Jackets AHL affiliate, Plekhanov is second on the team overall in assists with 11 and is still looking for his first goal of the season from his defensive position. He also has registered 26 penalty minutes and in +5 on the year. In 40 games played last season with the Crunch, Andrey finished with nine goals and 16 assists during the regular season.
Grant Clitsome, D
23 years old, 5-11, 208 pounds (Gloucester, ON)
Columbus' 12th pick, 271st overall, in 2004 Entry Draft
After completing his four-year collegiate career at Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York, Grant is spending his first full season in professional hockey with the Syracuse Crunch. Clitsome finished his career with the Golden Knights with 16 goals and 57 assists. In 24 games played with Syracuse thus far, Grant has tallied 3 assists and is still looking for his first goal as a professional.
