Cameron Atkinson, RW
19 years old, 5-9, 165 pounds (Riverside, CT)Columbus' 8th pick, 157th overall in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft
After earning Prep Player of the Year and All-New England East honors as a senior forward at Avon Old Farms during the 2007-08 season, Atkinson has enrolled at Boston College to begin his collegiate career. In his first 15 games as an Eagle, the freshman from Connecticut has tallied three goals and three assists.
Sean Collins, C
19 years old, 6-3, 184 pounds (Saskatoon, SK)
Columbus' 9th pick, 187th overall in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft
This past fall, Collins enrolled at Cornell University to begin his collegiate career for the Big Red. Through seven games played this season, he is still looking for his first point in the college ranks. The Big Red currently have a break in their schedule and will return to the ice on December 27th when they take on St. Cloud State University. In 2007, Collins was a second-team MJHL All-Star following the 2007-08 season that also saw him win the league's Lorne Lyndon Trophy. Collins finished second in the MJHL in scoring, registering 115 points in 60 games on 51 goals and 64 assists.
Jonathan Sigalet, D
22-years-old, 6-1, 199 pounds (Vancouver, BC)
Boston's 4th pick, 100th overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft - Acquired by Columbus from Boston in exchange for the rights to Matt Marquardt in May of 2008
After being brought in from the Bruins, Sigalet was expected to possibly battle for a spot on the Blue Jackets roster. However, the Vancouver native was sent to Syracuse to begin the season and has played well thus far. Through 19 games with the Crunch, Sigalet has registered five goals and six assists for a total of eleven points (second among defenseman on the team). He also ranks first on the team with a plus/minus rating of 13.
Petr Pohl, RW
22 years old, 5-11, 188 pounds (Prostejov, CZE)
Columbus' 6th pick, 133rd overall in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft
Pohl has started the 2008-09 season with the Blue Jackets ECHL Affiliate, the Johnstown Chiefs. Currently, he leads the team in goals and points, scoring 11 goals and 13 assists in 24 games played. He also has a plus/minus rating of +6. During the 2007-08 season, Pohl spent most of his time with the Youngstown Steelhounds of the CHL, registering 24 goals and 41 assists.
Adam Pineault, RW
22 years old, 6-1, 206 pounds (Holyoke, MA)
Columbus' 2nd pick, 46th overall in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft
After making his way to Columbus for three games last season, Adam is currently playing with the Syracuse Crunch. In 15 games this season, Pineault has scored two goals and recorded five assists. During the 2007-08 season with Syracuse, Adam collected 21 goals and 27 assists with 48 penalty minutes in 74 games. He led Syracuse and finished second in the AHL in shorthanded goals with six.
