Sean Collins just finished his freshman year on the Cornell University men’s hockey team.
The Blue Jackets left wing prospect, drafted with Columbus’ ninth pick, 187th overall in the 2008 Entry Draft, scored three goals and three assists on the season for a total of six points.
Collins played in 33 of 36 games for the Big Red during the 2008-2009 season. Collins got his team on the board in the NCAA Hockey Tournament with the only goal for the Big Red against Bemidji State in the Midwest Regional Championship game.
The Saskatoon, Saskachewan-native played the 2007-08 season for Waywayseecappo of the Manitoba Junior Hockey Leauge. He scored 51 goals and added 64 assists for 115 points in 60 games. He added nine goals and four assists for 13 points in nine playoff games.
