EDITOR'S NOTE: You've arrived at the CBJ Power Rankings, our weekly breakdown of the top-five players, statistics, trends and many other Blue Jackets-related categories. If you're looking for the traditional power rankings, you've come to the wrong place. We'll go in-depth and outside the box, and hopefully give you something to think about.
We're talking about offense, friends. Goal-scoring and tons of fun...and in the heat of a playoff race that looks like it's going right down the wire, several teams around the NHL are looking to their top guns to score the clutch goals and keep their postseason hopes alive. The Metropolitan Division has seen a lot of goal-scoring this season, but five players stand out as the best lamp-lighters in the division.
Once again, we're back on a Monday morning to break it down for you. Let's look at the Metro Division's top goal scorers, shall we?
2013-14 GOALS: 48
The Washington Capitals are one of four teams vying for one of the final two wild card spots in the East, and they'd be lost without their captain and No. 1 offensive weapon. Ovechkin has been on a goal-scoring tear this season, tallying 48 times in 71 games with 22 of those goals coming on the power play. Note to opponents: stay out of the box against the Capitals.
