The Blue Jackets had one heck of a month to climb back into playoff contention. December was kind to the Blue Jackets, and they hope they can carry that same level of play into 2015. But where does their December performance rank among other strong months in Blue Jackets history?
December has been pretty good to the Blue Jackets looking back through the record book. That held true in 2006 for Columbus during a rough season, with the team finishing fourth in the Central Division and out of the playoffs. Still, it wasn't without its bright spots and one of those was December. The Jackets went 9-5-2 that month, good for 20 points. The Jackets had a six-game points streak (5-0-1) from Dec. 2-14, recorded two shutouts, and picked up wins over divisional rivals Chicago and Detroit.
