Monday night marked a special milestone for Scott Hartnell, as he suited up for the 1,000th time in his NHL career. He won over hearts in Nashville and Philadelphia, and he's done exactly that so far in his first season with the Blue Jackets. Hartnell has had an excellent career so far on the ice – and he's done great things off the ice as well. To commemorate that, we're counting down our top five Scott Hartnell moments.
Head it like Hartsy
In Friday’s 7-1 win over the St. Louis Blues, Scott Hartnell gave line mate Cam Atkinson a helping hand. Or rather, a helping header.
Atkinson’s goal made the game 2-0 and ignited the Nationwide Arena crowd as he batted the puck out of mid-air. But the replay showed Hartnell doing what he’s known for — creating havoc in front of the net. The result was the same — a gritty goal — even if it went in off of Atkinson’s stick. It was vintage Hartnell. It wasn’t pretty, but it still counts.
