Post-Game Quotes

Blue Jackets Head Coach Scott Arniel

Commenting on tonight's game…

"Any time you win a hockey game, you have to give yourself a little pat on the back. We've had a tough time (recently), but we found a way to scramble back. It wasn't the prettiest of games. It had a lot of twists and turns and ups and downs, but at the end of the day we got the two points and that is what we needed."

Commenting on the play of goaltender Steve Mason
"Steve gave us a chance to win. He made some good stops in the shootout and overtime. He made some stops early in the game and in the penalty situation in the second period. Hopefully, confidence-wise, it's a good jolt for him."

"When I watched him, he probably wants (the first one back)… he looked like he was at the top of the crease and he looked like he was confident. It's a first good step and that’s all it is. He got himself a win in a really crazy game.”

Blue Jackets Goaltender Steve Mason

Commenting on tonight's game…

"After having that first one go in, I just tried to bear down and make sure to keep it out as long as possible. And for myself, it's a big win, but for the team it's an even bigger win. We really needed this one and the guys really came through in the shootout. It doesn't happen too often that guys score three straight goals, so it's really nice to have that happen."

Blue Jackets Center Kyle Wilson

Commenting on tonight's game…

"I think everyone needed this one. You mentioned (Steve) Mason; it's a great win for him. He's a great goaltender and once he gets on a roll he is going to be big for us. We were down one going into that third period and to be able to come back, the good teams are the ones that are able to do that. It shows that we are ready to make a push here."

Minnesota Wild Head Coach Todd Richards

Commenting on tonight's game…

"We had our chances and opportunities on the power play. I liked our five-on-five play; I thought we were focused and intense. And at times on the power play we lacked that intensity and that focus. Again, I liked the way we played five-on-five. I thought we did some things to create some opportunities and some chances. We sent some pucks to the net. Again, when we got on the power play we got away from that a little bit. I thought our power play let us down tonight. We had a chance to go up by two or three goals with the power play opportunities. You do have to give them some credit; they did a good job penalty killing."
