Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Columbus Blue Jackets

Preseason - September 24, 2010

Blue Jackets Head Coach Scott Arniel
Commenting on tonight's game…

"Way too many penalties and it was a variety – hooking, holding, etc. You can't do that to any team. I can't roll four lines if we are killing penalties. We need to be the team with more power plays. I like the way that we battled back after being down 2-0."

Commenting on the play of left wing Tomas Kubalik…
"He had some opportunities and he's a big man that has a big reach and he hacked and whacked a couple of time for some big goals. He was good in Traverse City when we saw him up there. He's a top six player and a guy that scored well in junior and spends time around that area, in front of the net. He can knock pucks down in front of the net."

Columbus Blue Jackets Player Quotes

Blue Jackets Right Wing Tomas Kubalik

Commenting on his hat trick…

"When you are playing with (Antoine) Vermette and (Kristian) Huselius, two good players on the team it makes it easy. I just try to play like last season. I had maybe a little luck but I was very happy that I score three goals. Its better when we win the game, but I was happy to score three goals."

Blue Jackets Center Antoine Vermette
Commenting on Kubalik…

"He's a big guy with good hands and has a nose for the net. I thought tonight he was effective obviously. His goal right in front, he found the open space. He's a big body to move and he can defiantly finish and he showed that tonight. It's good, I am happy for the guy."

Pittsburgh Penguins Quotes

Penguins Head Coach Dan Bylsma
Commenting on tonight's game…

"I liked Brent (Goalie Brent Johnson), early on. He had the glove save and I think he would like to have one of those back. We left him a little bit alone there on the power play, a guy all alone there in front of the net, and he finds the hole. Timing for a goaltender and getting game action is much different than just practice, so for him to get back in there and get some pucks and try to get his timing back. That's important for Brent and he will get some more time as the preseason goes on."
