Post-Game Quotes

Blue Jackets Head Coach Scott Arniel

Commenting on tonight's game…

"We did get off to a slow start and my comments to the team (at the first intermission) were that our forwards had to get going. I thought the second period our forwards started to get going, we got after their defense, started to create some turnovers and obviously got some big goals. That was a good, physical, hard game for 60 minutes."

Commenting on the play of goaltender Mathieu Garon…
"Mathieu was outstanding. He hasn't played in awhile, but he did a great job. He was big in the net and he looked very confident in there, and in the first period when we weren't at our best, he made some stops to keep it a one goal game."

Blue Jackets Left Wing Rick Nash

Commenting on tonight's game…

"I think we had a couple of big fights from (Jared) Boll and (Derek) Dorsett. It really gave us some momentum; we came out pretty flat in the first. I think we were trying to be a bit too fancy. We have done that a couple of times at home this year. We have to keep it simple. That's our style of game. In the second and third we did it and it paid off."

Commenting on his goal…
"It's huge when your center man drives the net and takes the defense with him. He makes the goalie commit to him, too. It was a great play by (Derick) Brassard and a great pass by Jake (Voracek)."

Blue Jackets Goaltender Mathieu Garon

Commenting on tonight's game…
"We played really well. We were disciplined; I think we only had to kill one penalty which was huge for us. In the second and third period I think we had control of the game. They had shots but we had guys there to clear the rebounds and they played really well in front of me."

Colorado Head Coach Joe Sacco
Commenting on the play of Peter Forsberg…

"Actually he played better than I expected him to. He was arguably our best player tonight. He kept his shifts short. He had good energy for the most part. He was playing well. I think it's a real big step for Peter, certainly in the right direction. It doesn’t hide the fact that we still lost the game. I thought he was real good tonight."

Commenting on tonight's game…
"I think its fair to say that everybody has to pick their game up right now I thought we started the game great. I thought it was a real good first period. We had good energy, we came out, we were out chancing them and we were playing our game. The team that we are, you make a couple of mistakes and it seems like here we go again. You just have to get past that, keep working and stay positive."
