Post-Game Quotes

Blue Jackets Head Coach Scott Arniel

Commenting on tonight’s game…

"We got a power play after that 3-2 lead and proceeded to give up a 2-on-1 (to Chicago). At the end of the power play we gave up a 3-on-2 goal. Then on the next power play, we gave up a shorthanded goal. That was an ugly game for sure, and I'm sure Joel (Quenneville) would say the same on his side. There were lots of chances and it was pretty sloppy coming off the All-Star break."

Commenting on his team’s two-man advantage in the third period…
"We made some bad decisions with the puck. You try to put your best people out there in that situation. We've been through it before; we created some chances and got some opportunities on that, but we weren’t too sure what we wanted to do with the puck. You could tell there was a lot of rust tonight."

Blue Jackets Right Wing Derek Dorsett
Commenting on tonight's game…

"Obviously with the number one power play coming to town we have to stay out of the box. When we get our opportunities, we have to capitalize, too. We have to be better at both areas. It's a disappointing loss."

Blue Jackets Center RJ Umberger
Commenting on tonight's game…

"Sloppy. Both teams were sloppy. They were sloppy, too. We had chances but we just gave them too many good prime scoring chances. Our special teams gave up a five-on-three and a shorthanded goal and our power play didn't score. That could have been the difference."

Chicago Blackhawks Head Coach Joel Quenneville
Commenting on tonight's game…

"We had a huge kill on their five-on-three. They had a lot of time on it. We had some penalty troubles again late in the game. We got through it and our penalty killing did a good job. I thought both teams gave up higher quality shots than they would like. Offensively there were a lot of good looks at it from both ends of the rink so we have to be better than that for sure."
