Post-Game Quotes

Blue Jackets Head Coach Scott Arniel

Commenting on tonight's game…

"We had to stop the bleeding before we go into St. Louis and that was a big two points that we needed. We had to get to the overtime and our power play finally stepped up and scored a big goal. We were playing a heck of a hockey game, but we had a about a five minute span in the second period where we woke their team up by turning pucks over and making mistakes. I like the way we played tonight."

Commenting on the selection of Kyle Wilson as a shooter in the shootout…
"The selection of Wilson was real simple. He is a guy everyday in practice that scores goals. We do drills and he seems to find a way to put pucks in the net. When I yelled his name to go, I think even the players recognized it. They were excited (for him). He's a guy that has a knack for that net. I had been thinking about it after the last shootout. I was pretty sure I was going to use him, it was just a matter of where (1, 2 or 3)."

Blue Jackets Center Kyle Wilson

Commenting on his shootout goal…

"I really only have two moves on the shootout and that was one of them. I saw Rick (Nash) go down and make it work, so I thought it would be a good idea to try it again."

Commenting on tonight's game…
"Obviously we let a few games in a row here where they have potted a few on us and we had to go back to basics and keep it simple and focus on the defense first and then the offense. Hopefully we can roll with it from here."

Blue Jackets Goaltender Mathieu Garon

Commenting on tonight's game…

"It's huge, it's exactly what we needed as a team, I think. Coming back like that late in the game, our power play got us a big goal and our captain (Rick Nash) stepped up at the end. It's exactly what we needed. I think we needed that kind of emotion and obviously we got it tonight."

Dallas Stars Coach Marc Crawford

Commenting on tonight's game…

"I thought we played a real strong game. We weathered what I thought was going to be a pretty hard forecheck in the first period. I thought we got better as the game went on, We had good puck possession, but didn't get too many pucks to the net. The third period, I thought, was our strongest period. We got an unfortunate break at the end and they won in the shootout. All in all I can't be too disappointed. We just have to focus on getting ourselves better and start a new streak. We got a valuable point in this game and try to get two the next one."
