Post-Game Quotes

Blue Jackets Head Coach Scott Arniel

Commenting on the Derek Dorsett goal being disallowed at 15:00 of the second period…

"They said it was goaltender contact – they said – in the crease. We looked at it and we feel Ethan (Moreau) was outside the blue paint. The goalie (Kari Lehtonen) came out to challenge (the puck) and ran into him and proceeded to throw his arms in the air. Ethan's feet were planted and really there is not much you can do, you're not going to change a referee's mind."

Commenting on tonight's game…
"Should we have had some better fate? Yeah. It was a heck of a hockey game but we have to find a way (to win). We did lots of good things. We had them hemmed in and had lots of opportunities to get the lead. Our power play needed to strike in the second period when we had the momentum. We are at six games in nine nights we just went through; our energy level actually surprised me. I thought we were tenacious and we did deserve a better fate."

Commenting on the play of goaltender Mathieu Garon…
"Those games are tough for the goaltender and Matty didn't see a shot for awhile. Matty was good and kept us in the hockey game. He made some stops in 5-on-3 and 5-on-4 to keep us in the game."

Blue Jackets Goaltender Mathieu Garon

Commenting on his penalty early in the game…

"The referee told me I kind of dove on the play. Their goalie (Kari Lehtonen) did the same thing earlier in the game and he didn't call that. It doesn't really matter, I guess. My job is to stop the puck and not get into fights with players in front of the net."

Commenting on tonight's game…
"We did a pretty good job as a team. It was a solid effort and we just couldn't buy a goal. We had tons of scoring chances but their goalie played well."

Blue Jackets Right Wing Derek Dorsett

Commenting on his disallowed goal at 15:00 of the second period…

"It was obviously a goal after seeing the replay. Once you see the replay, it is an obvious goal. That is a key point in the game. It's a 1-1 game and turns it into a 2-1 game. It's an obvious goal, it should have been a good goal. I think Chopper (Ethan Moreau) and (Rick) Nash talked to the referee and they said Chopper touched or bumped into the goalie and you can see clearly on the replay that he didn't."

Dallas Stars Head Coach Marc Crawford

Commenting on tonight's game…

"We didn't have our best period in the first. I thought they were really good and they came after us. We knew that they forecheck extremely hard and they did. I thought as a team, we played better in the second, and I thought our best period was the third. We had many guys that rose to the occasion. Brad Richards' two huge goals, Brendan Morrow again showed great leadership all night. Our penalty kill was excellent tonight. The defense was terrific and (Mathieu) Garon made a couple of big saves to keep them in the game."
