Post Game Numbers and Quotes - Apr. 3 vs. St. Louis

by Blue Jackets Staff / Columbus Blue Jackets

17 - The amount of time off ice spent by Derek Dorsett who racked up three penalties for 17 minutes. A fighting major in the second period and cross-checking and game misconduct penaltied in the third. Dorsett played edgie or angry and is now tied with Jared Boll for the team lead in penalty minutes with 182 (T-5th in the NHL).

56 - LW R.J. Umberger scored his 25th goal in the game to give him 56 points on the season, a new career high. The goal leaves him one shy of his career high 26 he had in 82 games in 2008-09. To say the least Umberger has helped keep this team together with his leadership, but also his career year. He has cemented himself as a cornerstone for this team and franchise moving into the 2011-12 season.

243 - Umberger tied the franchise record for consecutive games played, playing in his 243rd straight game tonight against St. Louis. He has matched Jason Chimera's record, which was set Oct. 9, 2005-Apr. 5, 2008. Under the definition of NHL ironman there is a picture of R.J. Umberger.

Post-Game Quotes

Blue Jackets Head Coach Scott Arniel
Commenting on tonight's game…

"Against a team like St. Louis, if you play like that, soft and aren't ready to compete, stuff like that happens. It wasn't like a team from the East came in that we didn't know… we just weren’t very good. To me, our compete level wasn't very good. We weren't ready to match what St. Louis was doing. We gave up a couple of crappy goals and it snowballed from there."

Blue Jackets Left Wing R.J. Umberger
Commenting on tonight's game…

"We played two tough games against teams that are playing playoff hockey and we matched them to the end. Tonight we just looked like we had nothing in the tank and couldn't get anything going. We just looked flat."

Blue Jackets Defenseman Anton Stralman
Commenting on tonight's game…

"We were trying to get a lot of shots, that'[s the most important thing. It's always tough games against the Blues. They are always putting up a good game and they work hard and make it tough for the other team. We were just flat today."

Blue Jackets Goaltender David LeNeveu
Commenting on his Blue Jackets debut…

"I thought I played pretty well. They had some good chances I was able to shut down. Unfortunately, they were able to get a rebound goal there to start and a lucky one off the post at the end."
