Wednesday Feb 14, 2007

Local Team Captain Carl Tremblay was quoted as saying "Wednesday will be the easiest day of the tourney with only one exhibition game against the Florida Flyers". Solid goal work from Richard Griffin made sure the prediction came true, securing the Blue Jackets a 3-0 victory and the second shutout while here in Quebec. He was complemented by another strong showing by the defense, who was unfortunately a man down today with Dar Faroughi trying to recover from the flu.

Goals were evenly spread over the three periods. First period goal was scored by Alex Cathis, his second goal in as many games. Assisting on the play was Jude Warner. Second period goal was scored by Jude Warner with an assist from Michael O'Connell. Third period goal came from a high point blast by Ian Flinders which ignited the crowd. Assisting on the goal were James Eastep and Kyle Gratz.

Thursday's action will include two afternoon exhibition games before resuming tournament play against Italy on Friday morning at 8:00 a.m.
