Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final is tonight in Philadelphia. Growing up in the Pittsburgh area, I was taught to loathe the Flyers. That being said, there is a guy on that team that I'm rooting for - goaltender Michael Leighton.
Having seen Leighton have success in the AHL, I've enjoyed watching him play in the NHL this season. I got a chance to meet him when the Blue Jackets played in Philly this season and he was extremely nice and I enjoyed conversing with him. For that reason alone, I'd be OK if the Flyers came back to win the series.
What is better? Having instant replay and still getting the call wrong, or having no instant replay at all? That's the question baseball fans are asking themselves after umpire Jim Joyce made the wrong call this week, costing Detroit Tigers' pitcher Armando Galarraga a perfect game. Replays clearly showed that Cleveland's Jason Donald was out at first, despite the call. Then again, replays showed Todd Bertuzzi kicked a puck into the goal during the CBJ's last trip to Detroit, but that score counted.
I'm going to the Memorial Tournament today. This is something that I'm really excited about, since I have yet to attend a PGA event. The only troublesome thing is when you work in hockey, the last thing you should be looking forward to is golf.
Have a great weekend! Next week could be a very exciting one for the Blue Jackets organization!
