COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated left wing Fredrik Modin and defenseman Ole-Kristian Tollefsen off Injured Reserve and assigned defenseman Duvie Westcott to the Syracuse Crunch, Columbus’ American Hockey League affiliate, Blue Jackets General Manager Scott Howson announced today. Modin and Tollefsen will be available to return to the lineup this afternoon when Columbus visits the Dallas Stars at American Airlines Center.
Modin, 33, has registered two assists with four penalty minutes and a +1 plus/minus rating in six games with Columbus this season. He has not played in a game since suffering a back injury at Anaheim on November 1. He has appeared in 747 career NHL games, registering 205-201-406 points with 369 penalty minutes and a cumulative plus/minus rating of +9 with the Blue Jackets, Tampa Bay Lightning and Toronto Maple Leafs.
Tollefsen, 23, has one goal and 67 penalty minutes and a +4 plus/minus rating in 30 games with the Blue Jackets this season. He has missed the past five games due to a neck injury. In 105 career games with Columbus, he has 3-3-6 with 192 penalty minutes and a cumulative plus/minus rating of +4.
The Blue Jackets and Stars face off today at 2 p.m. Live coverage on FSN Ohio will begin with the Blue Jackets Live pre-game show starting at 1:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on the Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship station WWCD-FM, CD101.
