Michelle O’Brien of Newark was the grand prize winner of the “Jet to the Cup contest presented by Jetride Aircraft Management and the Columbus Blue Jackets along with CD101, Sports Radio 1460 The Fan, Mix 97.1 and WBNS 10TV. Michelle beat out eight other finalists in an on-ice contest during tonight’s FANtastic FANale V while the Columbus Blue Jackets played their final game of the 2005-06 regular season against the Dallas Stars at Nationwide Arena.

During the second intermission contest, the nine finalists were blindfolded, spun around and then sent to locate a replica Stanley Cup positioned on the ice. Michelle was the first contestant to reach the Cup and capture the grand prize of a once-in-a-lifetime hockey trip for four that includes travel to an NHL destination via private plane courtesy of Jetride Aircraft Management, four tickets to a 2006 Stanley Cup Finals game and hotel accommodations. In addition, Michelle and the eight runner-up contestants will also participate in the “Jersey Off Our Backs promotion at the conclusion of the FANtastic FANale contest when they will each receive an authentic jersey worn by a Blue Jackets player during the game that night.

It’s an honor for Jetride Aircraft Management to be a part of this year’s Blue Jackets FANtastic FANale and provide the lucky winners the rare opportunity of attending an NHL Hockey Stanley Cup Finals game. We’re especially excited to make this an experience of a lifetime as they travel to and from the game in a luxury setting that is clearly beyond ‘First Class’ on one of our private jets from the Jetride Aircraft Management fleet,“ said Wynn Peterson, Senior Vice President, Jetride, Inc.

Jetride was started in 2001 and now operates 14 aircraft with over 50 pilots in nine different bases. Jetride, Inc. is a division of AirNet Systems, Inc. AirNet has over 28 years of experience managing a national fleet of over 100 aircraft, flying more than 110,000 miles daily.
