COLUMBUS, OHIO – Forward Jonathan Audy-Marchessault, defenseman Tim Erixon, and goaltender Curtis McElhinney of the Springfield Falcons, the Columbus Blue Jackets’ American Hockey League affiliate, have been selected to participate in the 2013 Dunkin' Donuts AHL All-Star Classic, which will take place Jan. 27-28 in Providence, R.I. The three All-Star selections match the most in Falcons history (1997, 1999).
Audy-Marchessault, who is an All-Star for the second-straight season, leads the Falcons and is third in the AHL in scoring with 16-24-40. The second-year pro from Quebec City, Quebec registered his first-career hat trick on Tuesday in a 7-5 win over Manchester. Erixon, who will be making his AHL All-Star Classic debut this year, leads all Falcons defensemen in scoring with 4-20-24. McElhinney set a Falcons single-season record with his sixth shutout of the season on Dec. 22 at Hershey, leads the league in that category and is tied for second with 17 wins, ranks sixth with a .928 save percentage and 10th with a 2.25 goals-against average. This marks his second AHL All-Star Classic selection.
