Mason's A Go and Klesla Returns

by Jeff Rimer / Columbus Blue Jackets

February 3

Steve Mason will make his 19th consecutive start in goal tonight for the Blue Jackets. Mason pronounced himself rested, feeling better with two complete days rest since Saturday's game against Dallas after being pulled midway through the first period having yielded three goals.

More good news for the good guys... Rusty Klesla returns to the lineup after being activated off IR at noon today. Coach Hitchcock is happy to have his veteran defenseman back telling the gathered media following today's morning skate that in his opinion Klesla was the Blue Jackets best defenseman last season and he needs to get Rusty back up to speed and ready for the stretch run. He will be paired tonight with Kris Russel.

Chris Mason is expected to go for the Blues tonight. Mason came on in relief for Manny Legace in Detroit last night after the Legace gave up three goals on just eight shots.

The game IS ON FS Ohio tonight... The game was originally on the Versus schedule but when the game was dropped Fox Sports Ohio was quick to pick up the division game.
