Having last night won their fourth straight game at home the Blue Jackets look to halt a four game "road" losing streak tonight at the United Center here in Chicago.
This will be the second meeting between the two Central Division rivals and the first meeting since the Black Hawks edged the Blue Jackets 4-3 in a shoot-out back on November 1st. That night the Jackets got beat by a hot goaltender--Christobal Huet, who stopped a career high 46 shots. Huet is expected to start tonight and he will be opposed by Steve Mason. After another solid effort by the 20-year old netminder in last night's 3-1 win over the Islanders, Coach Ken Hitchcock goes back to November's Rookie of the Month and tonight he faces a stiff test against the Western Conference's second best offense. The Hawks led by last season's Rookie of the Year in Patrick Kane are scoring just under 3.5 goals per game on average and even better at home, here at the United Center where they average better than 4.0 goals per game!
This is a huge game for the Blue Jackets tonight and as Hitch offered in his post game news conference last night, this is a game where the Jackets "Best Players" must be their best players - meaning a big game is need by the likes of Nash, Umberger and Huselius!
Tonight's game will be telecast in HD on Fox Sports Ohio beginning with Blue Jackets Live at 6:30 Columbus time... Drop of the puck is set for 7:00. Please join us!
