Not much positive to say after last night's shutout loss to the Kings in Los Angeles. Perhaps its best not to look back but ahead to tonight's finale on the West Coast trip out here Anaheim against the Ducks.
Anaheim themselves have dropped two in a row and haven't played since blowing a 2-1 third period lead Wednesday night in Chicago.
Talked briefly to Blue Jackets head coach Ken Hitchcock this morning and Hitch, while he was not ready to commit 100 percent to what lineup changes he was going to make for tonight's game, did say he would likely put both Clay Wilson and Ole-Kristian Tollefsen in the lineup. Tolly on the blueline and Wilson up front and on the right point of the power play.
Wilson, who was traded to the Blue Jackets from Anaheim might have some additional motivation for tonight's game and can't be any worse on the point than what we saw last night as the Jackets went 0-for-4 on the power play with no shots on their first two attempts and two Kings breakaways on the latter attempts - one that resulted in a horrible giveaway for a breakaway and a penalty shot awarded to Patrick O'Sullivan!
I hate to add insult to injury but tonight the CBJ face the ninth best power-play owned by the Ducks, with Jackets killer Temmu Selanne leading the entire NHL with 13 power play goals...one more than the entire Blue Jackets team.
Well, the Blue Jackets usually save their best for the better teams in the NHL lets hope that's the case tonight!
The game is in HD on FOX Sports Ohio at 8 p.m. Columbus time.
