COLUMBUS, OHIO – Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Pascal Leclaire underwent successful arthroscopic knee surgery today and is expected to be sidelined approximately six weeks, club President and General Manager Doug MacLean announced.
Leclaire suffered the injury in Columbus 3-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks on December 22. The club’s top pick, eighth overall, in the 2001 Entry Draft, has appeared in 21 games with the Blue Jackets this season. He is 6-12-2 with a 2.97 goals-against average, .900 save percentage and one shutout.
The Blue Jackets return to action tonight when they host the Detroit Red Wings at Nationwide Arena. Game time is set for 7 p.m. Live coverage on FSN Ohio HD begins with the Blue Jackets IceBreaker pre-game show at 6:30 p.m. and includes the Blue Jackets Ice Cap post-game show immediately after the game.
