The Lake Erie Monsters (they're now known as the Cleveland Monsters, of course, but they won a championship as Lake Erie so we're going with that) finally got another sought-after memento from their Calder Cup win on Monday night.
And boy, are these rings something to behold.
The entire team, along with Blue Jackets management and the Monsters' staff, gathered at Double Eagle Club for dinner and a ceremony hosted by Columbus majority owner John P. McConnell.
Bill Zito, GM of the Monsters and Blue Jackets assistant GM, spoke to the group and presented each player with his ring. The rings feature the Calder Cup trophy front and center, framed with "Calder Cup Champions" around the perimeter and the team's logo beneath the Cup.
Here are some images from a memorable night:
Monsters captain Ryan Craig admires his new piece of jewelry.
Defenseman Zach Werenski meets Zito for his ring.
Sonny Milano was all-smiles on Monday night.
It's beautiful, isn't it?
