Klesla and Leclaire Close to Coming Back

by Jeff Rimer / Columbus Blue Jackets

November 11

All hands were on board today so to speak for this morning's practice on the main ice at Nationwide Arena. I thought it was a solid practice with a lot of chatter on the ice. I guess that happens when the team is going well... points in six straight... the last three wins on home ice against solid competition!!!

Rusty Klesla was on the ice both prior to his teammates joining him... and for the first 20 minutes of the workout. Kristian Huselius showing no ill effects of the bruised foot was flying and Rick Nash after a day off was back on the ice as well as Pascal Leclaire. Everyone with the exception of Leclaire has a chance at dressing for tomorrow's game against Phoenix although coach Ken Hitchcock told me following practice that a decision on Rusty won't be made until sometime before game time tomorrow.

Talking to Hitch he says he is more concerned about getting the penalty kill straightened out but I can tell you that the team did spend a fair bit of time working on the power play this morning.

Steve Mason gets the start in goal... and I have a hunch we will continue to see him start as long as the team keeps winning, but Hitch did tell me this morning that Pazzie could be ready for either one of the back-to-back games this weekend in Buffalo or Minnesota.
