Key Six Game Road Trip Start in California Tonight

by Jeff Rimer / Columbus Blue Jackets

December 29

The Blue Jackets begin their longest and most important road trip(six games) tonight here in Los Angeles. The Jackets take to the Staple Center Ice this evening coming off one of their better efforts of the season... Saturday's shutout win over the Flyers knowing that they owe the Kings a thing or two after L.A. not once but twice has shut-them out in the teams first two meetings.

Coach Ken Hitchcock stated after this morning's skate that the Jackets did not have strong first periods in the series previous two games and changed up the routine for tonight's game.

Despite toying with the idea of going with Pascal Leclaire tonight... Hitch said he and the coaching staff will go with Steve Mason and why not? The 20-year-old netminder registered his third shutout of the season Saturday at Nationwide and leads all NHL netminders in GAA and is third in Save percentage and he is now tied for second in shutouts with three!

No Home TV tonight but George and Bill will be along on the radio side!
