Keeping the String Going!!

by Jeff Rimer / Columbus Blue Jackets

November 18

The Blue Jackets who picked up three of a possible four points this past weekend on the road are back at Nationwide Arena tonight to play host to the Edmonton Oilers. The Jackets... with points now in eight of the last nine games look to keep things going tonight with Pascal Leclaire back in the net. Leclaire looked like the Leclaire of old last Friday in Buffalo... especially in the opening period while stopping 14 shots and in the second on a lengthy 5-on-3 Sabres power play.

Coach Ken Hitchcock is certainly pleased with the teams' effort of late telling a large media gathering following the morning skate today and I quote... "if we continue to compete at this level we can beat anyone."

Hitch went on to praise both Leclaire and Steve Mason saying that the players believe in both net minders and they feel the team can win every night with the play of the two.

It appears unless Hitch has a change of heart that Andrew Murray after being a healthy scratch the past couple of games will be back in the lineup tonight centering the fourth line with Raffi Torres who missed yesterday's practice on one of his wings facing his ex-Oiler teammates.

One other note... off the ice... the CBJ tonight will Honor the Columbus Crew at tonight's game. The Crew will play in the MLS championship game this weekend against the New York Red Bull out in Southern California.

Good Luck to the Crew!!

No TV tonight what with this being an exclusive "Versus" night but the game is on 1460 with George and Bill.
