The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned forward Geoff Platt to the Syracuse Crunch, the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, club President and General Manager Doug MacLean announced Sunday.
Platt was recalled by Columbus yesterday and collected two penalty minutes in last night’s game at Detroit. He has registered five assists and 18 penalty minutes in 17 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets, including 0-5-5 and 16 penalty minutes in 15 games as a rookie during the 2005-06 season. He is scoreless in two games with the Blue Jackets this season and has notched a team-leading 6-4-10 and 10 penalty minutes in eight games with the Crunch.
The Blue Jackets return to action on Thursday when they visit the St. Louis Blues. Game time set for 8 p.m. ET.
