The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled defenseman Jamie Pushor under emergency conditions from the Syracuse Crunch, the team's American Hockey League affiliate, Blue Jackets President and General Manager Doug MacLean announced today. Pushor is expected to be in the lineup for tonight’s game at the Detroit Red Wings.
Pushor, 32, has played in 33 games this season with Syracuse, recording 2-9-11 and 29 penalty minutes. The 6’3, 218-pound defenseman has scored 13-44-57 with 648 penalty minutes in 517 career NHL games with Detroit, Anaheim, Dallas, Pittsburgh, NY Rangers, and Columbus. A native of Lethbridge, Alberta, Pushor has added 9-68-77 and 538 penalty minutes in 328 career AHL contests. Originally a second round pick by the Detroit Red Wings in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft, Pushor has appeared in 143 career games with the Blue Jackets, recording 3-16-19 with 150 penalty minutes, including an NHL career-best 13 points in 2000-01.
The Blue Jackets return to action on tonight when travel to Detroit to face the Red Wings. Game time is set for 7 p.m., with FSN Ohio's Ice Breaker pregame show starting at 6:30 p.m. The game will also be broadcast live on the Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship stations WBNS-AM, 1460 The Fan and WWCD-FM, CD101.
