Jackets look to Rebound after Saturday's Loss to the Blues

by Blue Jackets Staff / Columbus Blue Jackets

March 15

The Blue Jackets swing back into action tonight at Nationwide as they host the Edmonton Oilers and look to bounce back after Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Blues Saturday. Coach Claude Noel said this morning he is looking for more energy from his hockey club adding, "we need to create more offense."

Kristian Huselius feeling much better returns to the lineup, but Anton Stralman missed today's morning skate, is ill and will not play. Rick Nash also is suffering from the stomach flu and although feeling better injury wise will not play tonight either. General Manager Scott Howson told me yesterday he is hopeful Nash can return to the Jackets lineup here Friday against the Minnesota Wild, who as I write this still feel they can take a run at a playoff spot. Wishful thinking!!

Steve Mason gets the call in goal again tonight with Devan Dubnyk expected to start for the Oilers. Noel said when asked about starting Mason, "I thought Mase looked sharp in the morning skate today."

No home television tonight, but if you subscribe to the NHL's "Center Ice" package the game is available.
