The Blue Jackets with back-to-back wins over the Ducks and the Thrashers this week, look to extend their winning ways against the "red hot" St. Louis Blues at Nationwide arena tonight. The Blues have won six of their last seven games and are looking to remain in the hunt for one of the final playoff spots in the Western Conference.
The Jackets meantime are again somewhat understaffed. Rick Nash, as expected, will not be in the Blue Jackets lineup. Coach Claude Noel told me this morning after today's optional skate, he hopes Nash will be back for Monday's home start against the Edmonton Oilers. Kristin Huselius, who played Thursday and scored what proved to be the game winning goal, apparently aggravated his upper body injury and will not dress tonight but he too is hopeful of a return Monday.
The Jackets have won three of the four games in the season series, but the Blues always play a physical game and Noel says he expects the same tonight... says Noel, "We have to answer the bell, we can't be pushed around in our own building."
Steve Mason returns to the nets, his first appearance since being chased Monday in Los Angeles while Chris Mason goes for the Blues. It's a 7 p.m. start with Blue Jackets Live beginning at 6:30 p.m. with Ray Crawford on FOX Sports Ohio and the game will be televised in HD!
