by Blue Jackets Staff / Columbus Blue Jackets

The Blue Jackets finished the 2011 Annual NHL Prospects Tournament tied for third place after a 4-3 overtime loss to the St. Louis Blues.

Columbus got multi-point games from Ryan Johansen (2-0-2), Oliver Gabriel (1-1-2) and Cody Goloubef (0-2-2). Cam Atkinson and Michael Chaput also added one point each.

"It was a great effort by our team, I think we out shot them (by a significant margin) and Jake Allen, the goaltender for St. Louis, played really well," Director of Amateur Scouting Tyler Wright said. "Ryan Johansen got better as the game went on and score two goals."

Columbus led 1-0, tied the game at 2-2 and then led 3-2 on Gabriel's goal in the third period.

Goaltender Allen York stopped 28 of 32 shots on goal, allowing the game-winner 1:51 into the second overtime.

The Blue Jackets prospects return to Columbus on Thursday and will start main camp on the ice with the veteran players on Saturday morning..

"We're etremely happy with the way we went up and played (in this tournament)," Wright said. "There were guys that came up to this tournament and took another step, which is something we look for (as management). And we were able to stay healthy throughout the tournament."
