Hats for Heroes Night

by Staff Writer / Columbus Blue Jackets

The Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation, bd's mongolian barbeque and Capital City FOP Lodge #9 raised over $10,000 during a 6-week campaign to raise money to fight pediatric cancer through the Hats For Heroes program.

The night featured Blue Jackets players, broadcasters and celebrity grillers representing the Fraternal Order of Police Capital City Ledge 9 at three different bd's locations: Sawmill, Easton and the Arena District. Players signed autographs, door prizes were handed out and all tips were donated to the fight against pediatric cancer.

Players and broadcasters were on location from 6-8 p.m. at:

  • Sawmill - Ron Hainsey, Jeff Rimer and George Matthews
  • Easton - Fredrik Modin, Danny Gare and Bill Davidge
  • Arena District - Dan Fritsche, Jody Shelley and Mike Todd
