Garon Gets the Start, Jackets Look for Fourth Straight Win at Home!

by Jeff Rimer / Columbus Blue Jackets

March 27

The Blue Jackets with three-straight home ice victories attempt to make it four in a row tonight as they host the New York Islanders at Nationwide.

On Thursday night, the Jackets tied the club record for the most goals in a game with their 8-3 win over the Chicago Blackhawks. They hope to carry that momentum into the game versus New York and if this morning's pre-game skate is any indication, they will do just that! There was a lot of chatter on the ice this morning and the players feel pretty good about themselves after Thursday's win, and hope it translates into another victory tonight.

Mathieu Garon gets the start in goal. Garon is 6-0-3 with a 1.90 goals against average and .933 save percentage at Nationwide Arena this season.

Claude Noel offered this morning that he is very happy with the Jackets recent play adding, "we are playing with more speed, we are managing the puck better and with a lot more energy." If Noel had his way, he said he would use practices to teach the young team more. But, with the schedule seeing the Jackets play almost every other day since his appointment, he hasn't had the ability to practice with the club as much as he would like.

Tonight's game is in spectacular HD and our coverage begins with Ray Crawford and Blue Jackets Live at 6:30 p.m. Game time is 7 p.m. and tonight's telecast is an "All Access Night."
