ANALYSIS: The Blue Jackets talked this morning about not wanting to get sucked into a "typical Devils" kind of game, and so far, the road team hasn't been able to establish its traditional style. For most of the first period, the Blue Jackets had the better of play and created ample chances, but it's always a task to get quality opportunities against the Devils, who like to wait for your mistakes and then counterattack the other way. And when those chances come, then you have to deal with a top-notch goaltender like Cory Schneider. The only goal so far is a power play marker from Mike Cammalleri, who ripped a one-timer past Sergei Bobrovsky (who made a couple of excellent saves in the period) at 19:04. The Blue Jackets, thanks to a tripping penalty to Patrik Elias, will start the second period on the power play.

- Matt Calvert was activated off of injured reserve this morning and appears set to rejoin the lineup along with Alexander Wennberg. Corey Tropp took reps during line drills with seventh defenseman Justin Falk and appears to be a scratch tonight.

Oh hey, we're back at home!

The Blue Jackets return to Nationwide Arena tonight and face the New Jersey Devils, closing out a four-game season series between the two Metropolitan Division clubs. Columbus is in the midst of a six-game winning streak (while having won eight straight road games) and the Devils are coming off a home loss to Anaheim last week.

There was some positive news at Monday's practice, so let's get right to it:

- Both Alexander Wennberg (infected hand) and Matt Calvert (concussion) practiced on regular lines yesterday and have been medically cleared to play, per coach Todd Richards. Wennberg skated between Scott Hartnell and Marko Dano, while Calvert was on the fourth line with Mark Letestu and Jeremy Morin.

- Jared Boll will serve the third of a three-game suspension tonight against the Devils. He's eligible to return Thursday when the Jackets face the New York Islanders.

- Sergei Bobrovsky gets the start in goal, and he's expected to face Cory Schneider (surprise, surprise) for the Devils.
