: Howson announced just a short while ago that the team has signed former University of Michigan goaltender Shawn Hunwick to an amateur tryout contract beginning today. Hunwick, 24, will be the backup goaltender for Columbus tonight as Allen York makes his second career start. Steve Mason (upper body) was injured in today's morning skate and is listed as day-to-day.

Hunwick posted a 24-12-3 record with a 2.00 goals-against average, .925 save percentage and five shutouts this season for the Wolverines. He ranked second in the nation in wins, third (tied) in shutouts, fifth in save percentage and seventh in goals-against average and was named to the All-CCHA Second Team.
