Game Day Blog: at Detroit (continued)

by Rob Mixer / Columbus Blue Jackets

7:10 P.M.:

The Blue Jackets and Red Wings are on the ice for warm-ups at Joe Louis Arena. All players who participated in the morning skate are present for the pre-game warm-up and Steve Mason was the first goaltender out of the tunnel for Columbus. He will face former Blue Jacket Ty Conklin, who is 3-1-2 in his career against his former club with a 3.06 goals-against average and .896 save percentage.

It looks as if the Blue Jackets defense pairs will switch up slightly from Sunday's game. Here's how they lined up during the pre-game:

J. Johnson - Savard
Lebda - Nikitin
A. Johnson - Moore

The forward lines will remain the same.

HISTORICAL NOTE: On Feb. 4, 2011, Mason made 34 saves to lead the Blue Jackets to a 3-0 shutout win over the Red Wings here at Joe Louis Arena. Antoine Vermette, Andrew Murray and Jared Boll supplied the offense for Columbus in the victory. Relive that masterful performance by "Mase" by watching the highlights below.
