The Columbus Blue Jackets earned revenge for a 4-1 loss at Los Angeles earlier this season, pulling away from the Kings for a win by the same score on Thursday night at Nationwide Arena.
Game in a Paragraph
After Los Angeles scored the game's first goal, the Blue Jackets overwhelmed the NHL's last-place team with an offensive onslaught that included 40 shots on net. Artemi Panarin scored twice, Columbus also got goals from Lukas Sedlak and Josh Anderson, and Sergei Bobrovsky earned the win.

Quote of the Night
Head coach John Tortorella: "I thought we had (our game) the other night, too, but we scored some goals tonight, scored a power-play goal, played a good game. Everybody contributed. Everybody had a chance to play. Other than six or seven minutes toward the end of the first period, I thought we checked pretty well. It's nice to win. We haven't had one in a while, so it's good to get a win."
CBJ Notables
Artemi Panarin tallied his first two goals of the month and now has 34 points and 10 multi-point games this season and in 30 games.
Josh Anderson showed no ill effects from leaving Tuesday night's game, putting in his 13th goal of the season to tie for second on the squad.
Seth Jones earned the 200th point of his NHL career with the primary assist on Panarin's second-period power-play goal.
Quick Recap
It was a quick start for both squads, with scoring chances going both ways in the early going. The Kings got on top first just 3:54 into the game as Alex Iafallo chopped a bouncing puck to the front, where Zach Werenski tried to glove it only for it to bound right to Dustin Brown for a quick finish over Sergei Bobrovsky.
Just 1:37 later, the Jackets had the equalizer as Lukas Sedlak scored in his return to the lineup. Oliver Bjorkstrand brought the puck out from behind the net and backhanded a pass across the crease for Sedlak to drive home easily for his first goal of the season.

LAK@CBJ: Sedlak nets one-timer for quick equalizer

"Finally," Sedlak said. "It took me a while. I've had a couple of open nets before, too, so I didn't have time to think about it and it went in so I'm happy about it, obviously."
The Jackets then took a 2-1 lead at 10:13 of the frame as Artemi Panarin scored for the first time in December. Moments after Pierre-Luc Dubois couldn't finish a beautiful pass from Panarin, this time PLD served as the set-up man, sending a pass across the slot for Panarin to finish before goaltender Jonathan Quick could get over.

LAK@CBJ: Dubois, Panarin link up for goal

In the second, each team hit the post - Dubois doing so for the Jackets, Tyler Toffoli for the Kings - before two goals in 20 seconds allowed the Jackets to claim control.
First, Columbus tallied its first power-play goal in four games as Panarin grabbed his second of the night. Seth Jones unleashed a slap shot from the center point that Quick fought off, but the rebound went to Panarin in the left circle and he quickly fired into the open cage.
Moments later, Anderson scored from nearly the same spot, skating into the zone with speed and firing a wriser that got by Quick's glove to make it 4-1.

LAK@CBJ: Panarin, Anderson strike twice in 20 seconds

"When Luc has a chance to make it 3-1 and hits the crossbar, because we're just a little bit scarred, I'm saying, 'Now what's going to happen?' But I just think we stayed with it," Tortorella said. "That's six periods of concentrating as far as the other side of the puck and everybody contributing."
Los Angeles pushed in the third period but Bobrovsky held strong and the Jackets snapped a two-game losing streak.
"I think we needed a bounce-back game," Anderson said. "We all were executing tonight. We need to start figuring things out here at home. Obviously a couple of bad bounced last game, it didn't go our way, but that's hockey for you. You just have to come out the next night and compete, and I thought we did a good job of that."
