Tonight is the third and final game of the Western Canadian swing, here in Calgary. The Blue Jackets hope to put their best foot forward and with a victory and fly home after the game with five of the six possible points from the trip.
Coach Ken Hitchcock put the troops through a brisk pre-game skate this morning and unlike many pre-game skates this one was not optional. I thought the team looked sharp and the hope is that will translate to a solid effort tonight.
As Hitch says "Calgary plays a heavy game" and he will have the troops ready to respond!
Jiri Novotny having returned from his flight home to get his first look at the family addition (new son Jiri Jr.) returns to the lineup tonight and look for the team's newest father to perhaps see some ice time alongside Rick Nash.
Pascal Leclaire again will start in goal after a day off without a practice, but Fredrik Modin will again be missing from the lineup bothered by a bad groin.
Calgary starts Miikka Kiprusoff and expect to have both Craig Conroy and Alex Tanguay back in the lineup after nursing injuries...
