Friday 5: The Canadian Swing

by Rob Mixer / Columbus Blue Jackets

1. Ottawa Senators (Nov. 17)

The Canadian Tire Centre (formerly known as Scotiabank Place) has not been a fun place for the Blue Jackets in recent years, so maybe the name change is a good thing? In the Jackets' last visit to Ottawa - October 2011 - they held a 3-2 lead late in regulation thanks to a go-ahead goal from Rick Nash, but disaster quickly ensued. The Senators scored twice in the final 35 seconds to absolutely steal one from the Blue Jackets and extend Columbus' winless skid to open the season to 0-7-1. Many of the players from that Jackets' team are gone, but memories of a 4-1 loss to Ottawa 10 days ago in Columbus are fresh. Two points and a road win to open this Canadian swing would be a huge confidence boost for the Blue Jackets.
