The Blue Jackets are back at Nationwide Arena after a successful Western swing last week and my hunch is tonight's game will be a fierce battle between two Western Conference teams off to solid season starts...
Yes, I know the Calgary Flames blew a 5-0 first period lead in Chicago and LOST 6-5 in overtime to the Blackhawks, even more reason to believe tonight's match up will be as Coach Hitchcock would say "a heavy game"... Brent Sutter when addressing the media this morning told us he is going with the same lineup simply to see how they respond to last night's embarrassing defeat.
As for Coach Hitchcock he simply stated "we are like Calgary... we have to play for 60 minutes, it's a lesson we all must learn." The reference was to last week's game in San Jose where in Hitch's words the team took their foot off the petal in the final two minutes of the second period allowing two late goals before dropping a 6-3 decision to the Sharks.
Hitchcock also said this morning that his goaltenders, Mason and Garon, were his best players in the teams road wins at Vancouver and at Phoenix respectively, and he is looking for more from his entire team tonight. They will need it, as I am certain the Flames will be at their best looking to make amends to their new coach who was far from pleased as he met with us this morning.
As far as the Jackets lineup in concerned tonight... Filatov is out and Boll back in for the first time since he took the late hit from Hordichuck in Vancouver.
