COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Blue Jackets forward Nathan Horton has not suited up for an NHL game since June 24, 2013.
The good news: he has taken the ice in recent weeks to begin the next portion of his rehab from offseason shoulder surgery, and is skating with Blue Jackets assistant coaches and the club's strength and conditioning staff both at the OhioHealth Ice Haus and at Nationwide Arena.
There is currently no timetable or "set date" for Horton to make his Blue Jackets debut after inking a seven-year contract on July 5, but progress is being made and Horton - when healthy and ready to return - hopes to make a considerable impact with his new team.
Jackets TV was on hand recently to capture exclusive footage of Horton's skating sessions. That video is displayed above.
