Dorsett Placed on Injured Reserve

COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed right wing Derek Dorsett on Injured Reserve retroactive to December 12, General Manager Scott Howson announced today. Dorsett was injured in this past Saturday’s game against Anaheim and is expected to be out four weeks.

Dorsett, 22, has registered one goal and three assists for four points, 60 penalty minutes and a +2 plus/minus rating in 18 games this season. The Kindersley, Saskatchewan native tallied 4-1-5 and 150 penalty minutes in 52 games during his rookie season in 2008-09. He was the Blue Jackets’ ninth pick, 189th overall, in the 2006 Entry Draft.

The Blue Jackets return to action tonight when they host the Nashville Predators. Game time from Nationwide Arena is 7 p.m. ET.
