Q: What do you feel is the best aspect of your game?
DH: "I’d say my work ethic and my defensibility in the D-zone of course. I try to prevent other players from scoring goals and work hard in the corners and in front of the net."
Q: What do you know about the Blue Jackets?
DH: "My past assistant coach is head scout for the West so that’s kind of our Swift Current connection, so we talk quite a bit about the team and just a great guy in Andy Schneider, so yeah we communicated quite a bit, and it was great to be drafted by the Blue Jackets for sure."
Q: It’s a team that finished strong last year. Do you feel like you’re getting into this organization at a good time where as your career develops you can be somebody that can be influential and help out down the road here?
DH: "Absolutely, as I said before it’s been a dream to play in the NHL, and to do it for the Blue Jackets would just be a huge honor. And to join the players that are already here would be something special for sure."
Q: What’s the whole experience for you here? As you’re sitting there do you start to wonder when does my name come up?
DH: "Yeah, it’s stressful for sure, but you know you’re so happy when it does. When it’s such a good team you’re just ecstatic and you almost go blank. So yeah, it’s been a great process."
