The Columbus Blue Jackets are looking to salvage the finale of a four-game road trip by concluding their third back-to-back of the season with a victory at Vancouver tonight at 10 p.m. ET.
The Jackets dropped the first game of the road trip at Minnesota, 3-1, the second half of a back-to-back after defeating the Wild in a dramatic shootout, 2-1 at Nationwide Arena. The Jackets then traveled up to Edmonton and took a 5-1 loss to the Oilers, before dropping a 2-1 decision last night in Calgary.
Vancouver has been perfect at home, posting a 6-0 record at General Motors Place. Tonight will mark the 17th meeting (4-9-2-1) between the two hockey clubs, the ninth (2-5-0-1) taking place at Vancouver.
The two teams have yet to meet this season, with the clubs slated to face each other four times during the campaign (Tonight and Feb. 6 at VAN, Jan. 24 and Mar. 17 at Nationwide Arena).
The Jackets split the 2003-04 season series with the Canucks, going 1-1 at home and on the road, after going 2-1-1 in 2002-03, to put the Jackets record against Vancouver at 4-3-1-0 over their last eight.
The game will be broadcast on FSN Ohio, as well as on the Blue Jackets Radio Network, including flagship stations 1460 The Fan and CD101 in Columbus. Coverage on FSN Ohio will begin at 9:30 p.m. with Icebreaker.
